The deal, in plain words
PuP.FYI is a free Bluesky handle registry run by Collr. Claiming a handle means you accept what is on this page. Last updated 24 September 2026.
What you get
A handle under one of our domains, pointed at the DID your Bluesky account already
publishes, served from /.well-known/atproto-did so Bluesky can verify it. You can
point the matching subdomain at a web address of your choosing. It costs nothing, and we do
not sell handles, rank them, or hold one back to charge you for it later.
The handle is a name we serve for you, not property you own. Your account is yours and stays yours: your DID never belongs to us, and switching your handle back in Bluesky takes you out of here at any moment, with nothing to cancel.
Who can claim one
You must be 18 or over, and you must control the Bluesky account you are claiming for. We check the second part by resolving the handle you give us to its DID. Claiming a handle for an account you do not control is the one thing most likely to get it withdrawn.
What you agree not to do
- impersonate a person, a business or an organisation, or imply an endorsement you do not have
- point a redirect at malware, phishing, or anything illegal where you or your visitors are
- use a handle to harass, threaten or abuse anyone
- claim handles in bulk to sit on them, resell them or trade them
- attack the service itself — scraping it raw, hammering the endpoints, or working around the checks on the forms
Where a redirect may point
The redirect is yours to set, and we do not review it up front. It stays your responsibility: the address in a visitor's bar says pup.fyi, so what sits on the other end reflects on everyone else here too. Adult material is not banned — this is a community that includes adult spaces — but it must be legal, and it must not be presented to people who did not choose it. Redirects to malware, phishing and illegal material come down as soon as we hear about them.
When a handle can be withdrawn
We keep this list short deliberately, because a name people hand out is only worth having if it is stable. A handle can be withdrawn if:
- it was claimed for an account you do not control, or it impersonates someone
- it or its redirect breaks the rules above and stays broken after we ask
- it is being used for fraud, malware or something illegal — in which case we act immediately, and explain afterwards
- a court, a registrar or the law requires it
- the name was reserved before you claimed it, and review picked that up — we will say so and help you pick another
Nothing else. We do not take handles back because we changed our minds, because someone famous wants the name, or because you stopped posting. Outside the immediate cases above we will tell you why and give you a chance to answer. If you think we got it wrong, use the form at the bottom of this page and a human will look again.
Ending it
You can walk away whenever you like: change your handle back in Bluesky and ask us to
delete the claim. Deleting it stops the /.well-known/atproto-did response, which
means the handle stops verifying, and frees the name for someone else.
What we do not promise
The service is free and provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, that a handle will resolve at any given moment, or that we will run the registry forever. If we ever had to shut it down we would tell people first and leave enough time to move, but we cannot make that a legal guarantee. To the extent the law allows, Collr is not liable for loss that follows from using — or not being able to use — a free handle. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud, because it cannot.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with it. A change that narrows what you may do, or widens when a handle can be withdrawn, will be said plainly rather than slipped in.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not take away rights your own country's law gives you.
How we handle your data is a separate document: see the privacy policy.
Reporting a handle, or asking us anything
Use this form. It reaches the people who run the registry. We do not print an address on the page, because a published mailbox is harvested within days.
